Tragic Death at Cork Music Festival Leads to Event Cancellation

Gardai have initiated an inquiry following the death of a man at a music festival in East Cork today, July 19th. The individual, believed to be in his late 40s, was discovered unresponsive in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival near Fermoy’s Ballyvolane House. Despite prompt emergency response, he was unfortunately pronounced dead at the location.

Subsequently, the festival has been canceled in light of this tragic incident. The heartbreaking news has been communicated to the man’s family, as reported by Cork Beo. The organizers expressed deep sorrow in a statement, emphasizing their sympathy for the deceased’s family and friends during this challenging period. They affirmed their full cooperation with An Garda Síochána and emergency services and refrained from providing further comments while investigations are ongoing.

As a mark of respect for those impacted, today’s closing concert has been called off. The organizers extended gratitude to the emergency services, staff, volunteers, attendees, and hosts for their support and understanding during this difficult time.
