Emergency services swiftly responded to a UK airport after a light aircraft was involved in an incident. Hawarden Airport in Flintshire, North Wales, near Cheshire, was the location where crews were summoned. The incident occurred at 3:10 pm yesterday.
Video footage from the scene depicted at least three fire engines present on a runway. A light aircraft appeared to have overturned on the tarmac, with a crane in the process of lifting it onto a platform.
A representative from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s control room informed the Mirror that crews from Buckley, Deeside, and Wrexham were mobilized to a light aircraft incident at Airbus UK, Hawarden Airport, Flintshire at 3:10 pm on July 18, 2026.
The Mirror has reached out to the fire service’s press office for a comprehensive statement, and Hawarden Airport has been contacted for their input as well.
Martyn John Wulfran captured footage during the aircraft’s recovery and shared it on X platform, commenting: “Emergency services and airport officials are attending to a plane that has apparently overturned on the runway at Hawarden Airport. The aircraft is currently being recovered at the scene of today’s incident at Hawarden Airport.”
