Gray’s guilty plea was non-negotiated, leaving the court to determine his sentence, which could range from life with parole to life without parole. Ismael Angulo, Christian Angulo’s brother, urged the judge to impose a life sentence without parole on Gray, highlighting the ongoing grief and loss experienced by the victims’ families.
The court learned that Gray used a rifle gifted by his father, Colin Gray, in the massacre. Colin Gray was later convicted on charges, including second-degree murder. Audio from Gray’s arrest revealed his message to a police officer, expressing that he understood his father’s intentions and the gravity of his actions.
