“Prince Harry Shares World Cup Heartbreak at NYC Event”

Prince Harry shared his thoughts on England’s loss in the World Cup while attending an event in New York City. The Duke of Sussex surprised attendees at TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in Sports event, where he was commended for his role in establishing the Invictus Games.

During the event, Harry was asked about England’s defeat in the World Cup, expressing his disappointment at the team’s loss to Argentina in the semi-finals. His brother, Prince William, also expressed his sorrow over England’s defeat, praising the team’s remarkable efforts throughout the tournament.

Harry, while on the red carpet in New York City, complimented the event photographers as the “most polite” he had encountered. TIME recognized Harry for his contributions to the Invictus Games, a sports competition he founded for armed forces personnel and veterans worldwide.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the Invictus Games, Harry emphasized the transformative power of sports in changing lives and highlighted the need for more countries to benefit from such initiatives. Recently, Harry visited the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

During his visit, Harry, accompanied by Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, was hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla in a private family gathering at Highgrove. This marked the monarch’s first meeting with Archie and Lilibet in over four years, with Meghan and Harry’s last visit to the UK together dating back to 2022.
