Mysterious Death of Scottish Woman Found in Greek Suitcase

A woman from Scotland, identified as Elisabeth Jane Ross or Lisa, was found deceased inside a suitcase at an abandoned building in Greece. Her body was discovered by a homeless individual in Kypseli, Athens, on July 18.

Authorities revealed that texts were sent from Lisa’s phone several days post her demise until media exposure led to her identification. Despite no visible signs of a struggle or injuries, the police estimate she had passed away approximately eight days earlier.

The investigation is now focused on determining if Lisa’s death was a criminal act, with toxicology tests underway. No evidence on the body or the suitcase points to a third party involved in the incident, as reported by the Daily Record.

Heartfelt tributes poured in from friends and family on social media, praising Lisa for her kind-hearted nature. Descriptions of her as a compassionate individual with a beautiful heart resonated among those who knew her.

Ms. Ross, initially unidentified due to lack of identification, was described as a 30-year-old woman with reddish hair tied in a bun, wearing a T-shirt and black shorts with a French university emblem. A rough sleeper discovered her remains after noticing a foul odor emanating from a derelict building on Evelpidon Street.

Reports suggest that Lisa traveled from Edinburgh to Greece on June 29, staying with friends before meeting American acquaintances in Kypseli. Messages sent to her family post her death indicated a desire for solitude, with the phone remaining active in the Athens area until her formal identification.

Greek authorities have sought assistance from Interpol and US investigators to aid in the inquiry. Police Scotland is collaborating with Greek officials in the investigation and providing support to Lisa’s family in Scotland. No suspects have been identified at this stage, and an autopsy is scheduled for the near future.
