A massive fire has erupted at a large Honda facility situated close to Barcelona. The Honda Motor España plant in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda is currently engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing high into the sky.
Approximately 17 fire trucks have rushed to the location following the outbreak of a fire on the building’s roof, which is equipped with solar panels. Authorities have advised residents in the vicinity to avoid approaching the fire site or engaging in outdoor activities. Additionally, they have recommended closing doors and windows in case of smoke.
Emergency services are actively working outside the premises to contain the fire from spreading to other parts of the industrial area. They have not yet been able to access the interior of the building. The fire has generated a dense column of smoke near the AP-7 motorway, causing traffic congestion in the area close to Barberà del Vallès.
Footage captured from a nearby highway depicts smoke emanating from the burning facility. A video shared by the local fire department showcases rescue teams on the scene amid billowing smoke.
A statement released by X mentioned ongoing efforts to extinguish the fire affecting an industrial warehouse in the Torre del Rector industrial estate in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. The aim is to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring warehouses.
A total of 17 fire engines are combating the blaze at the industrial warehouse owned by Honda in the Torre del Rector industrial estate. The fire originated on the roof of the building, which is equipped with solar panels, and has completely consumed the structure, as confirmed by the Fire Department.
The entire building has been evacuated, and fortunately, there have been no reported injuries.
