Elderly Woman Found Dead in Sydney Care Home

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body at a care home. Emergency services responded to a facility on Evans Road in Rooty Hill, Sydney, around 11:45 pm on Thursday, June 25. Authorities found the body of an 84-year-old woman inside a building.

In response to the incident, law enforcement officers arrested a 53-year-old woman, believed to have known the deceased, at the scene. The unidentified 53-year-old was taken to Mount Druitt Hospital for evaluation. No additional information has been disclosed, but the police encourage anyone with relevant details to come forward.

A spokesperson from New South Wales Police stated that an investigation is underway following the discovery of the woman’s body at the aged care facility in Sydney’s west. The authorities were alerted to the incident late at night, leading to the discovery of the deceased 84-year-old woman.

After initial inquiries, a 53-year-old woman, suspected to be acquainted with the deceased, was apprehended at the scene and transported to Mount Druitt Hospital for assessment. The police have cordoned off the area as a crime scene and detectives have initiated an investigation. A full report will be prepared for the Coroner’s office.
