“Emergency Water Landing: Haiti Flight Passengers Safe”

Passengers on a flight from Cap-Haïtien to Port-au-Prince in Haiti had a frightening experience when their Cessna 402B aircraft was forced to make an emergency water landing off the coast. The incident occurred near Lafiteau as the twin-engine turboprop aircraft, identified as registration number HI-1056 and operated by ZED Airlines under flight number 6502, touched down in the coastal waters.

The pilot and two passengers managed to escape the aircraft safely and were seen swimming towards the shore where they received immediate assistance. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The airline, ZED Airlines, confirmed that all occupants were relieved that no lives were lost in the incident.

Video footage captured the passengers making their way through the shallow Caribbean waters to reach Ibo Beach. Emergency services promptly attended to the trio, who are reported to be in stable condition.

Officials have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident, involving aviation authorities and the airline’s technical team. The aircraft, dating back to 1972, is currently under evaluation for any mechanical issues that may have led to the emergency landing.

ZED Airlines emphasized their commitment to passenger safety and assured that updates on the situation would be provided as the investigation progresses. The successful outcome of the incident was credited to the pilot’s skillful actions and prompt response.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the emergency water landing is ongoing, with more details expected to emerge in the near future.
