A 16-year-old boy, identified as Iretomiwa Abiodun Micheal, also known as Tomiwa, has passed away following an incident while swimming in a lake. The tragedy occurred at Swanholme Lakes in Lincoln last week, where he was rescued and taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at 8:50pm on July 9. His family, devastated by the loss, has released a heartfelt tribute through Lincolnshire Police, describing Tomiwa as a vibrant and unforgettable young man whose presence brightened every room he entered.
As the eldest of four siblings, Tomiwa was a natural leader, protector, and source of encouragement for his younger brothers. He was praised for his punctuality, dedication to his commitments, and meticulous nature in maintaining personal hygiene. Tomiwa was known for his sociable nature, effortlessly making friends and spreading kindness wherever he went. His passion for football was exceptional, playing for Greenbank FC and Lincoln City FC with pride and determination.
Tomiwa’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, actively participating in church youth ministry and the school youth choir. Despite his young age, he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion, impacting those around him profoundly.
