“Tragic Drowning: Young Girl Loses Life at Popular Reservoir”

A tragic incident unfolded at a well-known reservoir where a young girl lost her life in a drowning accident, believed to have occurred while she was playing on a raft.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) responded to a distress call on Saturday, July 18, at approximately 3:30 pm local time, indicating that a three-year-old child was missing and potentially drowned in Fleming Meadows Lagoon at Don Pedro Reservoir.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found bystanders administering CPR in a desperate attempt to save the girl, identified as Lailah Rosillo. Despite the swift efforts of responders and onlookers, she could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are now seeking assistance from the public to gather more details about the tragic incident. The TCSO issued a statement via a Facebook post requesting information such as photos or videos showing the child on a raft or boat with other children, as well as eyewitness accounts of events leading up to the incident.

Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support Lailah’s family with funeral and memorial expenses, aiming to raise $12,000. As of the latest update, the fundraiser has collected around $9,400 to aid the grieving family.

Friends and family remember Lailah as a joyful child whose smile brightened the lives of those around her. The community is rallying to provide support during this difficult time, with donations welcomed through the GoFundMe page established for her memorial.
