At least 17 individuals sustained injuries when a tourist train overturned in a Spanish city. The incident occurred in Cartama, located approximately 10 miles from Malaga, around 9:30 pm local time on Saturday. Emergency services promptly responded to the scene.

Images from the accident site depict the tourist train’s carriage lying on its side on Santo Cristo road. The cause of the accident remains unknown, although authorities have confirmed that the train capsized while crossing.

Over a dozen people suffered injuries, receiving immediate medical attention from emergency teams. Following the incident, four individuals, including three children, were transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, none of the injuries are deemed severe.

Reports indicate that around 30 passengers were aboard the train at the time of the accident. The train service has been temporarily suspended, and authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

The tourist train was part of la Ruta de la Tapa y el Coctel, a local event promoting exploration of various businesses in the city and sampling their offerings. This annual festival, running from June 10 to June 14, includes stops at different venues, with tourists provided maps detailing the locations.

Cartama is situated in close proximity to popular destinations frequented by British tourists, such as Malaga and the renowned resort town of Marbella.
