“Passenger Outsmarts Airline: Wears 6 Outfits to Dodge Baggage Fee”

A woman creatively avoided a baggage fee at the airport by wearing multiple layers of clothing from her suitcase. Carla Brunella managed to fit into six outfits to circumvent the charge for oversized hand luggage while flying with Ryanair from Verona, Italy, to Manchester.

Carla, a 27-year-old from Spain, found herself in this situation after being informed that her bag was too large to be considered a free personal item. Rather than paying the £70 fee, she decided to don as many clothes as possible before passing through security.

Expressing her amusement at the situation, Carla mentioned, “When I realized the bag was too big for the sizer, I started laughing. I had a feeling this would happen as I shopped a bit too much in Verona.”

Having paid £43 for the flight in May, Carla donned six complete outfits by the time she reached the boarding gate. Despite feeling hot and weighed down, she was relieved to have avoided the fine, stating, “I was super happy I didn’t have to pay the fine. I don’t think I’d ever pay the extra fee to check in a bag.”

Carla shared a video of herself wearing the numerous layers of clothing at the airport, which garnered over 455,000 views. The incident sparked mixed reactions online, with some commending her ingenuity and others questioning the practicality of her actions.
