A man is in critical condition at the hospital following a deliberate attack in the heart of Manchester city center. The 31-year-old victim was discovered with stab wounds on Peter Street, Deansgate, an area known for its bars and restaurants. City of Manchester officers found the victim around 3:40 am today.
After receiving initial medical assistance, the victim was rushed to the hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition according to a statement by Greater Manchester Police. Despite launching an investigation, no arrests have been made yet, and a police cordon remains in place at the crime scene.
Chief Inspector Mike Tachauer stated, “Although no arrests have been conducted, we believe this was a targeted assault with no broader threat to the community. Our inquiry is swiftly progressing to identify those accountable for this incident.” Police officers are maintaining a presence in the vicinity to provide assurance, with a scene still secured around Peter Street.
