“Injuries Force Larin and Buchanan to Depart Canada Men’s Soccer Team”

Striker Cyle Larin and winger Tajon Buchanan have departed from the Canadian men’s soccer team due to injuries. Canada Soccer reported that Larin developed back discomfort prior to the national team’s friendly against Peru. Larin participated in Canada’s 1-0 triumph over Chile on September 26.

Buchanan sustained a lower-body injury following a tackle by a Peruvian defender during Canada’s 2-0 win in Montreal. Larin has returned to Southampton in the English Championship, while Buchanan is heading back to Villareal in La Liga for evaluation by their respective clubs.

To compensate for the absences, head coach Jesse Marsch has brought in Major League Soccer forwards Marcus Caldeira from Minnesota United and Theo Corbeanu from Toronto FC to bolster the squad. The international window will conclude with Canada facing the United States in St. Paul, Minnesota, in a friendly match on Tuesday.
