After the funeral of a family member, it is common for grieving individuals to preserve their ashes in an urn at home as a way to feel close to them. This was the case for Ashleigh Wegner, whose grandmother Dorothy Kuspis passed away at 98 years old. Ashleigh decided to keep her grandmother’s ashes in a heart-shaped keepsake urn purchased from Amazon.
Upon receiving the urn, Ashleigh noticed that it seemed to have been stored for some time as it was a bit dusty. However, upon closer inspection, she discovered that there were still remains inside the urn, despite it being advertised as new. Shocked and disgusted by this revelation, Ashleigh contacted Amazon and the third-party seller to address the issue.
Expressing her discomfort with the situation, Ashleigh emphasized that she did not want the urn to be resold to another unsuspecting buyer. Amazon promptly responded to her complaint, assuring her of a refund and sending a replacement urn. Although she is still awaiting a response from the seller, Ashleigh has safely transferred her grandmother’s remains to the new urn, reserving a portion for close family members.
This incident is not the first time Ashleigh has encountered unexpected ashes. In a previous incident, she and her husband found a box of ashes in an alley near their home and, after contacting the authorities, ended up scattering them in the Arizona mountains.
Concerned about the mystery ashes found in the urn, Ashleigh plans to handle them in a similar manner to prevent them from being mistakenly sent to someone else. Despite reaching out to Amazon for comment on the matter, the company has not yet responded.
