This week, Europe experienced temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, surpassing the heat in parts of Spain and Portugal compared to the Sahara Desert. Authorities are advising people to stay indoors, schools are shut down, wildfires are escalating, and nuclear plants are reducing operations due to rivers being too warm for efficient cooling. The World Health Organization reports over 1,300 heat-related deaths in Europe since June 21st. Europe, traditionally accustomed to bearable summer conditions, is now facing a shift in climate reality.
