In a recent development, a video has surfaced showing the convicted murderer, Vickram Digwa, instructing his mother, Kiran Kaur, to take the knife he used in the fatal stabbing of Henry Nowak. This new footage, released by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), comes after Kaur was sentenced to three years in prison for aiding Digwa after the murder on December 3, 2025.
The video captures Digwa speaking to his mother in Punjabi, asking her to remove the weapon, which was recorded on Digwa’s phone facing downwards. A transcript provided by the CPS reveals Digwa telling Kaur to “Take this,” referring to the knife.
During the sentencing on July 17, Judge William Mousley KC noted that when Digwa instructed Kaur to take the murder weapon away, she was aware or believed that Henry had been stabbed and injured. The judge criticized Kaur, stating that a responsible parent would have confronted their child about their actions and guided them to do the right thing.
Kaur took the murder weapon back home and placed it among a collection of ceremonial and other weapons in Digwa’s room, according to Judge Mousley. This act aimed to hide its use and prevent Digwa from being caught, perpetuating the illusion that he had done nothing wrong and portraying himself as the victim. This further contributed to the distressing circumstances surrounding Henry’s arrest as he was dying.
Following Kaur’s sentencing, Mr. Nowak’s family released a statement expressing their unwavering commitment to seeking justice for Henry and urging authorities to uncover the full truth about the events of last December. Digwa, who falsely claimed racial abuse as justification, received a life sentence with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of the 18-year-old finance student.
