“Britain Braces for Early Summer Heatwave”

Britain is set to experience another round of early summer warmth in the coming days, according to weather forecasters. Projections indicate temperatures reaching 26C in parts of southern and eastern England, with 14 counties anticipated to witness the hottest weather. The latest ECMWF forecast charts suggest the development of high pressure across the UK by June 15, bringing calm conditions and sunny skies to many regions.

Normally, temperatures in early June in the UK do not surpass 20C. However, the persistent high pressure system outside the UK led to record-breaking heat in May, with the hottest day ever recorded in Britain at 35.1C in Kew Gardens, southwest London. Meteorologists predict a similar trend for June.

The most recent maps for June highlight that the mildest air will concentrate in the South East of England, East Anglia, and parts of the Midlands, with Scotland and Northern Ireland experiencing slightly cooler temperatures. WXCharts temperature projections show highs of 22C to 24C extending from the Midlands through eastern England, while areas in the South East, including Greater London, could see temperatures reaching 25C or 26C, making them the warmest spots in the country.

The Met Office’s mid-range forecast indicates that higher pressure and settled conditions may become more prevalent, particularly in the southern regions. Multiple locations in these counties are expected to reach temperatures of 24C to 26C, with minimal or no rainfall forecasted for many areas as reported by the Express.
