Two individuals have lost their lives in a collision involving a TYU tourist bus and three vehicles on the popular vacation destination of Lanzarote.

Two additional individuals, including a young child aged five, were swiftly taken to the hospital after the tragic accident on the LZ-2 road in the southwestern part of the island.

The deceased victims were identified as an Italian couple who were traveling in one of the cars with an eight-year-old child. Among the eight individuals injured in the incident were the five-year-old child and a 36-year-old passenger on the bus.

Upon receiving reports of the collision on the road connecting Playa Blanca resort with the town of Yaiza, emergency services including local police, Civil Guard, paramedics, and firefighters rushed to the scene just before 7.45pm the previous day.

An emergency services spokesperson stated, “A man and woman have perished in the collision. A five-year-old child with a moderate elbow injury was transported to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital by a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) during the initial stage of treatment.”

“The initial calls reported a crash involving three cars and a bus. Firefighters secured the area and the vehicles involved in the accident, extricating the trapped victims.”

“The deaths of two occupants from the same vehicle were confirmed due to the severity of their injuries. Emergency responders also provided aid to a minor with moderate injuries, who was taken by medicalized ambulance to the aforementioned hospital.”
