One of the highlights of Largs is its proximity to the waterfront from almost any point in the town.

The Victorian seafront in Largs offers a plethora of attractions, including a diverse range of dining options from traditional fish and chips to delectable Thai dishes.

Largs holds historical significance for being the site of a pivotal battle in 1263 that marked the end of Norse influence in Scotland.

For a deeper dive into its heritage, the Vikingar museum offers an intriguing experience, while the annual Largs Viking Festival in August provides hands-on activities like battle re-enactments and vibrant performances. During our visit, we had the opportunity to witness the festival in full swing, featuring impressive displays and costumes.

Apart from its Viking connections, Largs is renowned for its art deco ice cream parlour, Nardini’s, a beloved café in Scotland known for its exceptional ice cream and picturesque waterfront location, perfect for enjoying a scoop of your favorite flavor.

Exploring the town center reveals quaint streets filled with independent shops, cafés, and more ice cream parlors. We opted to have brunch at the lively café, Perk, known for its plant-filled ambiance and diverse menu.

With its unique range of independent retailers offering a variety of products, Largs is a delightful shopping destination. A bustling market tent features vendors selling everything from organic pet food to handmade jewelry and soaps, providing a pleasurable browsing experience.

For a short excursion, a ferry ride from Largs to the Isle of Cumbrae leads to the charming town of Millport, where a leisurely cycle around the island can be capped off with a refreshing pint before returning to the mainland.
