“Police Seek CCTV Footage in Schoolgirl Grab Case”

Police are urgently seeking CCTV footage following an incident where a hooded stranger grabbed a schoolgirl while she was waiting for her morning bus. The 14-year-old girl was approached by the suspect from an alleyway and an attempted grab was made, causing her to feel distressed. The incident occurred on Bamburgh Road in Clavering, Hartlepool, at around 8 am on Wednesday, June 17.

Fortunately, the girl managed to break free and promptly contacted her mother, who came to pick her up and ensure her safety. Although physically unharmed, the girl has been emotionally affected by the encounter, according to the authorities.

The suspect, described as being between 5’5″ and 5’11” tall, was dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie at the time of the incident. Cleveland Police mentioned that, based on the description provided, the gender and ethnicity of the suspect are yet to be determined.

Acting Superintendent Nick See, the Hartlepool District Commander, expressed understanding for the concerns of parents, reassuring the community that law enforcement has conducted searches in the area and will maintain a visible police presence as investigations progress. Collaboration with local schools is ongoing to enforce safety protocols, and individuals are encouraged to share any information or concerns with patrolling officers.
