A young man, aged 21, has passed away following an incident at an industrial yard where he was reportedly crushed while working. The victim, identified as Steven Dougall from Falkirk, lost his life on July 21 at the yard owned by Horizon Reinforcing & Crane Hire Co. Ltd, a business run by his family.
Tributes have been pouring in for Steven, who is remembered as a diligent and kind-hearted individual. A commemorative balloon release event was held at Dollar Park in his honor. Police Scotland has stated that the incident is not deemed suspicious, and they, along with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), are conducting an investigation.
Authorities were alerted to the situation around 9:55 am on July 21, 2026, and the injured man was rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after. While the death is not considered suspicious, inquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances. The HSE is cooperating with the police in their investigation.
