World champion figure skater Deanna Stellato-Dudek has decided to return to the United States after representing Canada for seven seasons. She is teaming up with Danil Siianytsia to form a new pairs partnership.
Stellato-Dudek, a 43-year-old from Chicago, previously competed for the United States in women’s singles over 25 years ago before joining Canada’s program in 2019 to skate alongside Maxime Deschamps. Deschamps retired from competitive figure skating in July.
In 2024, at the age of 40, Stellato-Dudek made history by becoming the oldest woman to win a world figure skating title with Deschamps for Canada. They also clinched the 2024 Four Continents title and secured three Canadian championships. Stellato-Dudek later acquired Canadian citizenship to be eligible for Olympic representation.
Expressing her excitement about the new partnership with Siianytsia, Stellato-Dudek thanked her fans for their unwavering support throughout her journey. She pledged to give her all to make her supporters proud and represent the USA to the best of her ability.
Looking forward to the upcoming season, Stellato-Dudek and Siianytsia will train in Colorado Springs under Olympic coach Drew Meekins as they prepare for the 2027 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. At the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics, Stellato-Dudek and Deschamps finished in 11th place after facing challenges leading up to the event, including a head injury during training that impacted their performance. Siianytsia, aged 25 and originally from Dnipro, Ukraine, has been competing for the United States in pairs since 2017, most recently with Anastasiia Smirnova.
