A court appearance is scheduled for a woman facing arson charges in connection with two large wildfires near Manchester. The 20-year-old suspect, Shania Care-Slede, from Market Street, Hyde, has been charged with aggravated arson, endangering life recklessly, and dangerous driving. She is in custody and will attend Manchester Magistrates’ Court on July 14. Authorities are investigating the ongoing fire at Dovestones Reservoir and are seeking additional suspects.
Over 70 firefighters, supported by 11 fire engines and four wildfire units, have been dispatched to battle the flames.
