The Vancouver Goldeneyes have inked a three-year deal with their standout prospect, defender Caroline (KK) Harvey. The team made the announcement on Tuesday, following her selection as the top pick in the Professional Women’s Hockey League draft back in June. Harvey, a 23-year-old American, comes with an impressive background, excelling in her collegiate career with notable achievements. In her last season at Wisconsin, she scored 18 goals and accumulated 64 points, securing her third NCAA championship and clinching the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Award for the best player in women’s college hockey.
Her success extended to the 2026 Olympics, where she showcased her skills by scoring two goals and amassing nine points in seven games, helping the United States claim a thrilling 2-1 victory over Canada in overtime to seize the gold. As a result, she was honored as the International Ice Hockey Federation’s female hockey player of the year. Harvey now joins the Goldeneyes alongside Canada’s Sophie Jaques, a strong performer who was a finalist for the PWHL’s defender of the year award after recording 20 points in 30 games last season.
Expressing her enthusiasm about the new chapter, Harvey stated, “I am thrilled to have signed with Vancouver for the next three years.” The team’s new general manager, Alison Izzi, emphasized their excitement in supporting Harvey’s growth as a top-tier player. Izzi praised Harvey’s exceptional defensive skills, speed, and dynamic playing style, highlighting the anticipation of her contribution to the team’s roster. Harvey also shared her excitement about the hockey culture in Vancouver, expressing eagerness to collaborate with her teammates and entertain the Goldeneyes fans with her performance.
