A couple engaged in what is being dubbed as the “ultimate dine and dash” at a restaurant in Brentwood, Essex. The pair enjoyed Baby Guinness shots, steaks, and other dishes amounting to a bill of £231.30 before fleeing without settling the tab. The restaurant’s general manager, Deanne Perkins, suspected the incident was preplanned as the couple requested to be seated near the rear exit. Surveillance footage captured the duo consuming their meal before the woman casually exited through the front door while the man made his getaway through the rear exit. The pair was later seen running across the car park. The restaurant staff discovered the dine and dash through CCTV footage and reported the incident to the authorities. Deanne shared the video online to caution other businesses about the couple. The woman eventually returned to pay £90 of the bill, but the man remains at large. Deanne expressed surprise at the couple’s actions, describing them as appearing normal and friendly during their visit. The woman claimed she was unaware of the dine and dash, but Deanne found this explanation dubious given the circumstances. The restaurant manager emphasized the negative impact of customers skipping out on their bills and noted the overwhelming support received after sharing the incident online.
