Trump Considers Extensive Military Campaign in Iran

President Trump is reportedly strategizing a significant new military campaign in Iran following an urgent meeting in the situation room. The U.S. leader recently declared an end to the fragile truce with Iran, criticizing its leadership and prompting reciprocal missile attacks in the region.

In response to Tehran’s assaults on vessels traversing the Strait of Hormuz, a naval blockade was enforced on Iran. Retaliatory airstrikes targeted an Iranian military facility, resulting in casualties and injuries across the country, according to Iranian authorities.

Reports suggest that Trump is contemplating a more extensive offensive in Iran beyond the current operations near the Strait of Hormuz. He is said to have deliberated on this plan with top national security officials in the White House’s situation room.

During the meeting, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen Dan Caine, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, and other senior officials were present. The proposed strategy involves intensified strikes on key Iranian and Strait of Hormuz targets.

Additionally, Trump indicated on Fox News that the U.S. would escalate actions against Iran, targeting critical infrastructure like power plants and bridges in the upcoming days unless negotiations are initiated.

Ongoing hostilities between the U.S. and Iran in the Middle East, including threats to the vital global energy supply route, have dismantled the interim peace agreement. The conflict resolution talks have stalled amid heightened tensions over the strategic waterway.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has warned of potential disruptions to energy exports from the region in response to the blockade, emphasizing the need for a collective approach to oil and gas distribution.
