“Tragic Twist: Ann Widdecombe’s Home Revealed Before Fatal Incident”

Just before her tragic death, Ann Widdecombe’s residence was showcased on a national television program.

The public had an exclusive look into the former MP and MEP’s home located in Haytor on Dartmoor during the rerun of Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House on Discovery+ on July 2nd. Widdecombe, aged 78, expressed her fondness for the peace and seclusion of her Devon retreat on the show.

Shortly after the episode aired, Widdecombe was found deceased at her residence, having suffered severe injuries. Authorities have initiated a murder investigation and are treating it as a terrorist incident.

The concept of Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House involves celebrities decluttering their homes and sometimes uncovering valuable items to be auctioned off for substantial profits.

Widdecombe’s segment was filmed in 2022 as part of the second season of the show, hosted by antique expert Angus Ashworth.

During the episode, the retired politician showcased various parts of her house including the entrance, garden, library, conservatory, gym, and kitchen. There is no implication that the program had any connection to the tragic event.

Episodes are typically accessible on Discovery+’s platform, but Widdecombe’s episode has been temporarily removed. The available episodes from the second series range from episode two to episode four, skipping the third episode.

Despite the removal, clips from the show, widely circulating on social media, depict Ashworth visiting the bungalow in Haytor and assessing items that Widdecombe intended to sell.

Viewers were granted a glimpse into different sections of the property such as the entrance, garden, conservatory, gym, library, kitchen, and dining area, with the program portraying the home as situated on the serene Devonshire coast.

Widdecombe was introduced in the episode as a “retired politician” negotiating prices for personal possessions like her parents’ Japanese Satsuma dish, a scarf, a bag, and a teddy bear.

The episode captured Widdecombe discussing her choice to live in the secluded property while showcasing different areas of the bungalow.

Upon arriving at the bungalow, Ashworth, 41, remarked, “Lovely little house, isn’t it?” Widdecombe earned £1,445 from the sale of her featured items, with the Japanese plate fetching the highest bid at £660. The repeat episode aired on Quest at 6 pm on July 2nd, as per TV listings.

Following her death, Widdecombe, aged 78, was found at her Haytor residence. Head of National Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP), Laurence Taylor, announced that the investigation is now under Counter Terrorism Policing due to new evidence.
