Police in Northern Ireland have provided an update following a tragic incident where a mother, her daughter, and a man were found dead in what appears to be a double murder-suicide. The deceased individuals, a 41-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, and an eight-year-old child, all members of the same family originally from Poland, were discovered at a residence on Old Cullybackey Road in Ballymena on Monday morning.
Authorities responded to the scene around 9 am and confirmed the bodies inside the property. The police are treating the case as a “double murder followed by a sudden death.” The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has launched a murder investigation and is appealing for any information related to the incident.
Detective Inspector Dickson stated that the 39-year-old woman and her daughter were victims of murder, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths, as well as the man’s death, is ongoing. He emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public, and no other suspects are being sought in connection with the case.
DI Dickson expressed condolences to the family members affected by the tragedy and assured them of ongoing support. He urged anyone with relevant information to contact the authorities or provide tips anonymously through Crimestoppers. For mental health support, individuals can reach out to the Samaritans helpline or visit their website for assistance.
