Former Tory MP, Patrick Spencer, is facing allegations of groping two women at London’s Groucho club. One of the victims described Spencer as persistent and a bit intrusive before he grabbed her breasts from behind during a night out in August 2023. The first woman expressed shock at the incident, stating that she felt compelled to move away as Spencer touched her breasts while they were leaving the bar.
The second victim recounted feeling frozen when Spencer forcefully cupped her breasts, making her pull his hands away before exiting the scene. Both women detailed instances of Spencer persistently trying to engage them in conversation and insisting they try cocktails he had purchased. The women, whose identities are protected, highlighted feeling uncomfortable and invaded by Spencer’s actions.
Spencer, who lost his Conservative whip in Parliament due to the charges, denies the allegations, claiming he did not touch the women inappropriately. Witness testimonies revealed Spencer’s overfriendly behavior that led to the accusations of sexual assault. The trial is ongoing, with footage from the Groucho Club’s CCTV playing a crucial role in the case against Spencer, who was elected as an MP in the 2024 general election.
