Authorities in Toronto reported the apprehension and formal accusation of an individual associated with an arson inquiry following the destruction of several vehicles at the domicile of a Member of Parliament in Scarborough last week.
According to a recent press release, Roshvin Crofton, aged 24, was taken into custody and charged with arson causing property damage, mischief exceeding $5,000, involvement in a conspiracy to commit a serious offense, possession of flammable materials, and breaching a probation order.
The arrest and charges were executed by law enforcement on Sunday, with the confiscation of a vehicle presumably linked to the incident as well.
Authorities are currently pursuing a second suspect in connection with the alleged arson, which took place in the driveway of Liberal MP Salma Zahid’s residence.
