Tesco Express Security Guard Chokes on Doughnut, Dies in Tragic Incident

A tragic incident occurred at a Tesco Express store in Salford, where a security guard, Mohamed Nassar, 57, choked on a doughnut while at work and collapsed. Nassar, who was taking medication at the time, experienced a medical emergency that led to his collapse on the shop floor, causing distress among his colleagues and customers.

Despite receiving prompt medical attention and being resuscitated by paramedics, Nassar suffered severe brain damage as his heart stopped for 23 minutes. Despite efforts to save him, Nassar never regained consciousness and his life support was eventually withdrawn 44 days later, resulting in his passing on June 21.

His family, devastated by the loss, expressed their grief and the challenges they now face, both emotionally and financially. Mohamed, a former musician and father of three, had relocated to Manchester from London in 2020. His family, including his wife and daughters, were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and prayers they received during this difficult time.

A GoFundMe page was set up by the family to cover funeral expenses and provide financial assistance to support the family in their time of mourning. The fundraiser described Mohamed as a beloved family man who touched the lives of many with his kindness and selflessness.

The store manager at Tesco expressed deep sadness over Mohamed’s passing, offering condolences to his family and friends. The community has rallied around the family, showing solidarity and support during this challenging period.
