“Innovative Prince William Revitalizes Duchy of Cornwall”

Prince William carries out his royal responsibilities by traveling within the UK and abroad for official engagements, interacting with people, engaging with charities, and involving himself in various activities.

Upon assuming the title of the Prince of Wales following his father King Charles’s coronation, Prince William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall, a substantial estate comprising land and properties that generate an annual private income of about £23 million for the future monarch.

In exclusive insights shared with The Telegraph, it was disclosed that Prince William makes bi-monthly visits to different parts of the Duchy, meeting families, engaging with staff, and seeking ways to offer assistance during his visits that are often kept low-key by locals accustomed to royal visits.

Despite his regular travels for Duchy-related matters, Prince William remains dedicated to his family life in Windsor with his wife, Princess Kate, and their three children, residing in Forest Lodge.

Apart from leading The Prince’s Council meetings and participating in various committees, Prince William reportedly stays connected with Duchy staff through WhatsApp. The Duchy encompasses a vast array of land, properties, and agricultural assets primarily situated in southwest England, covering 128,494 acres across 20 counties with a total valuation exceeding £1 billion.

Recent reports suggest that Prince William intends to sell a portion of the Duchy’s portfolio over the next decade, directing the proceeds towards addressing housing and environmental challenges. The Times highlighted that the prince plans to concentrate the Duchy’s holdings around five key areas, emphasizing positive impacts on communities and the environment.

In line with this vision, Duchy of Cornwall’s chief executive, Will Bax, emphasized the prince’s commitment to investing £500 million, sourced from land sales, development revenues, partnerships, and loans, into targeted priorities to enhance the Duchy’s impact while preserving its historical significance and community ties.

Mr. Bax underscored the importance of aligning the Duchy’s activities with social and environmental needs, stating that the estate aims to be a valuable partner in driving positive changes in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Prince William’s forward-looking approach towards modernizing the Duchy while upholding its heritage and community values was highlighted during his visit to Duchy farmland on Dartmoor where he articulated a vision of expanding the Duchy’s positive influence and fostering sustainable development.
