A 15-year-old teenager accused of causing fear in a neighborhood by dressing as a creepy clown and making menacing visits to residents’ homes has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 76-year-old man in Illinois. The victim, John Wesley Allen Sr., was found stabbed multiple times in a residential area in East St. Louis, leading to the teenager’s arrest by Illinois State Police.

Prior to the tragic incident, the teenager was reported to have been seen wandering the neighborhood in the clown attire, instilling fear by making eerie statements at people’s doorsteps. Ring doorbell footage shared on social media captured the individual in the clown outfit approaching a home and whispering unsettling messages around 9pm, an hour before authorities were alerted to the situation.
