“Parents Honor Memory of Tragic Disney Alligator Victim”

Two-year-old Lane Thomas Graves tragically died in an alligator incident at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa ten years ago. His parents, Matt and Melissa Graves, are honoring his memory as the anniversary of his passing approaches. They described Lane as a loving child with a special light and have released a memorial video through the Lane Thomas Foundation to commemorate his life.

The Graves family, who were on vacation from Nebraska in 2016 when the incident occurred, have been working to turn their tragedy into a positive force for other families in need. Despite the heartbreak of losing Lane, they established the Lane Thomas Foundation to support families facing crises and promote organ donation awareness.

In remembrance of Lane, Melissa and Matt welcomed their third child, Christian Lane Graves, two years after the tragedy. They believe that Lane continues to watch over his siblings as their guardian angel. In response to Lane’s passing, Disney took action by removing 250 alligators from their properties in 2021.

The Lane Thomas Foundation, founded by Melissa and Matt Graves, aims to provide resources and support to families dealing with traumatic experiences, emphasizing the importance of keeping families together during difficult times.
