Three-time Olympian Michelle Plouffe has made a return to competitive play by coming out of retirement to join Canada’s four-member lineup for the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series event in Bangkok, Thailand. Together with her twin sister Katherine Plouffe, Cassandra Brown, and Paige Crozon, the 33-year-old Plouffe is set to compete in the tournament starting this Saturday.
As Canada currently holds the 10th position in the women’s series standings, they are aiming to secure a spot in the final by finishing among the top seven teams. The ultimate Women’s Series Final is scheduled to take place in Shanghai on September 5-6, with China as the host nation. This event in Bangkok represents one of the final chances for Canada to accumulate essential qualification points.
Michelle Plouffe, who officially retired on July 28, 2025, to transition into her role as Canada Basketball’s 3×3 performance manager, brings a wealth of experience to the team. She has previously guided Canada to multiple FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series championships, a silver medal at the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, and a notable fourth-place finish at the Paris Olympics.
