A male nurse is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting an elderly resident at a nursing home in New South Wales, Australia. The incidents involving the 79-year-old patient occurred between November 2023 and February 2024. The patient, who suffers from cognitive impairment, was residing at a care facility during the time of the assaults.
The 27-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday, July 13, following an investigation by detectives from the Coffs/Clarence Police District. He is accused of aggravated sexual assault against a victim with cognitive impairment, as well as other related charges. The man appeared in court on Monday and is scheduled to return to Grafton Local Court on Monday, September 7 for further proceedings.
