“Man Confesses to Killing Mother of Three in Portsmouth”

A man has admitted to the killing of a mother of three who was discovered deceased in her residence in Portsmouth. Charlie James Jeans, aged 31, changed his plea to guilty during a court session at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday. Samantha Murphy, aged 32, was found dead at a property on Wadham Road in Portsmouth on June 5, 2025, by law enforcement officers who responded to reports of a body at the location. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary initiated a homicide inquiry following the unfortunate incident, leading to the apprehension of two individuals on suspicion of murder. Jeans, residing on Margate Road in Southsea, confessed to the murder of Samantha on the fifth day of his trial. He has been detained for sentencing at the same court on June 17.
