“Judge Orders Trump’s Name Removed from Kennedy Center”

A judge has issued a ruling ordering the removal of President Donald Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The decision states that the Washington venue cannot be renamed without the approval of Congress.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington has instructed the Trump administration to remove all physical signage displaying Trump’s name and to erase any mentions of a “Trump Kennedy Center” from official materials within the next 14 days.

Judge Cooper emphasized that the Kennedy Center is designated to honor President Kennedy according to its organic statute. He highlighted that only Congress has the authority to change the Center’s name as it was bestowed by Congress and cannot be altered unilaterally by the Board.

The ruling came in response to a lawsuit filed by Democratic U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty. The White House has not yet provided a comment in response to the court’s decision.
