A former contestant of Miss Universe Jamaica, LaToya Malcolm, has tragically passed away at the age of 35. The Miss Universe Jamaica organization shared the news of her death in a heartfelt social media post over the weekend. The cause of her passing has not been disclosed.
Expressing their deep sorrow, the organization honored LaToya Malcolm’s memory and stated that she will always be remembered. LaToya participated in the 2024 Miss Universe Jamaica pageant, where she stood out as one of the remarkable contestants despite the personal tragedy of losing her father during the competition. She later clinched the Miss Jamaica Bikini International title and dedicated her victory to her late father in a touching tribute.
Apart from her involvement in pageantry, LaToya was recognized for her work as an actress and dance instructor. She was also actively engaged in the Transition Project, a program aimed at assisting disadvantaged teenagers in their transition to adulthood.
Gabrielle Henry, the current holder of the Miss Universe Jamaica title, paid tribute to LaToya, emphasizing that her impact and voice will endure and be celebrated.
