Five individuals were swiftly taken to the hospital after a significant emergency response event unfolded at a bustling retail park in North Wales. The Mostyn Champneys retail park in Llandudno saw a flurry of police cars, ambulances, rapid response units, and two air ambulances in response.
Authorities set up a police cordon surrounding the McDonald’s restaurant on the premises as emergency personnel swarmed the area. The Welsh Ambulance Service later confirmed that five casualties received treatment at the scene and were subsequently transported to the hospital.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service stated, “Responding to a call at 10:52 today, we dispatched one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one Duty Operations Manager, and three emergency ambulances to the Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Llandudno. Advanced critical care was provided by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service using two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters, with five patients being transferred by road to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.”
North Wales Police verified that the incident was a “multi-vehicle collision.” A police spokesperson appealed for witnesses following a road traffic collision at Mostyn Champneys, Llandudno on the current date.
The spokesperson further urged anyone who witnessed the vehicle’s movements before the collision or was present at the scene to come forward. They also requested individuals with dash camera or mobile phone footage of the vehicle pre-collision to provide it to the authorities.
