Delta police have reported that another individual has passed away following the car accident at Tsawwassen Mills mall on September 30th. The police disclosed on Tuesday that Gwenyth Brigit Dwyn, a 64-year-old resident of South Delta who was one of the two people hospitalized after the incident, succumbed to her injuries.
The crash occurred during a house pole raising event following a Truth and Reconciliation Day walk organized by Tsawwassen First Nation, resulting in the deaths of two individuals on-site. Authorities believe the incident was triggered by a driver experiencing a medical emergency.
The victims of the crash were identified as Tsawwassen First Nation elders Virginia Splockton and wilapiya (Barb Joe). Delta police confirmed on Wednesday that the second injured person has been discharged from the hospital and is currently recuperating at home.
Delta police expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as all those impacted by this tragic event.”
