“Fatal Tourist Bus Crash in Central Italy”

At least six individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries following a tragic accident involving a tourist shuttle bus in central Italy. The collision occurred on the Terni-Rieti road, close to the Umbria and Lazio regions’ border, when the bus collided with a camper van and two cars on Sunday evening, as reported by Umbria regional authorities.

According to regional president Stefania Proietti, six out of the 34 injured individuals are in critical condition, with two others receiving treatment for severe injuries, as per Italian news agency ANSA. The bus was en route to the Marmore Falls, a historic Roman waterfall near Terni, at the time of the incident.

Proietti termed the crash a “catastrophic” mass-casualty event and confirmed the immediate activation of the regional emergency protocol upon receiving the initial distress call. The injured were swiftly transported to hospitals in Terni, Perugia, Spoleto, Foligno, and Rieti for medical attention.

Among the deceased are two residents of Massa Martana, identified as Paolo Cosci and Graziella Baldini by Mayor Francesco Persiani, who extended his sympathies via Facebook, expressing profound sorrow over the loss experienced by their community.
