The young woman fell 130 feet into a ravine due to the absence of a safety cord that should have been attached by the staff. Prior to the fatal jump, Maria had shared a social media post expressing excitement about the experience. Following the incident, two workers fled the scene but were later apprehended by local authorities.
The São Paulo government confirmed that six individuals were questioned in connection with Maria’s death, with three men arrested and charged with homicide.
