“Family of Missing US Tourist from Grenada Returns Home”

The family of a missing tourist from a Caribbean island is returning home after an extensive search. Elizabeth Waddell, a 44-year-old visitor from the US, disappeared on July 22 while swimming at Grand Anse Beach in Grenada. Despite initial sightings, she vanished beneath a jetty, prompting her friend Heather to raise the alarm.

Elizabeth’s husband, Cailen, announced that the family is flying back to the US, acknowledging the community’s support and continuing investigation efforts. While declining interviews, the family urged the public to share information about the case, expressing gratitude for the media coverage and the generosity of donors who contributed to a GoFundMe campaign.

In a heartfelt tribute, Cailen shared personal memories of his wife and highlighted her vibrant personality through social media accounts and business ventures. Described as an experienced traveler and adventurer, Elizabeth’s disappearance remains under investigation by authorities in Grenada, with no suspicion of foul play.

Search efforts involving the Grenada Coast Guard, divers, and canine units have been ongoing along the island’s southern coastline. Family and friends, along with the FBI and the US Embassy, are actively involved in the search as the investigation continues.
