Although minor structural damages were reported by the Italian fire service in the Naples area, no immediate requests for rescue operations were made.
As a precautionary measure, local authorities suspended rail and metro services. Social media footage captured moments after the earthquake depicted the aftermath of a major landslide triggered by the seismic activity. The earthquake, with an epicenter in the Campi Flegrei area west of Naples and a depth of approximately 3 km (2 miles), was recorded at 7:46 pm.
