Disgraced former royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has maintained a low profile since his arrest in February, choosing to stay within the confines of the Sandringham estate to avoid public scrutiny while Thames Valley Police conduct their investigation into his activities.
Recent reports suggest that Andrew briefly left Norfolk for a weekend getaway to France, generously hosted by a wealthy Dubai businessman acquaintance. During this purportedly relaxing holiday in rural Brittany, the ex-prince was accommodated as a VIP guest at a renowned stud farm owned by the Emirati tycoon.
Despite facing controversy in recent times, the 66-year-old Andrew has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct. According to a report from the Mail on Sunday, Andrew was allegedly invited by Mohammed A Baker, a prominent sportswear magnate, to enjoy a few days at Baker’s esteemed stud farm near St Malo in late May.
Andrew reportedly flew from Norwich International to Dinard Airport via a private jet arranged by Baker, spending three days at the secluded stable complex before returning on the evening of June 1. Throughout his excursion, Andrew was said to have engaged in activities like horseback riding on a French beach, playing boules in a historical courtyard, and indulging in exquisite meals prepared by a private chef.
Although the trip was intended to be discreet, Andrew’s presence in the area eventually became known to local residents. French racehorse trainer Arthur Desprez, who operates nearby, confirmed Andrew’s visit to the Mail on Sunday, stating that Andrew was a guest at Baker’s residence. Another farm employee shared insights into the luxurious experience Andrew likely enjoyed during his stay.
Shortly after his return from the French excursion, Andrew was spotted driving around the Sandringham estate with visible facial bruising. While speculation arose about the cause of the bruise, sources close to Andrew clarified that it stemmed from a minor medical issue.
Andrew has maintained a subdued public presence following his arrest earlier in the year on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The investigation is linked to allegations of him sharing confidential information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as a UK trade envoy in the early 2000s.
In a subsequent development, Thames Valley Police disclosed their expanded probe into Andrew’s conduct, encompassing various facets of alleged impropriety such as sexual misconduct and corruption. Andrew has vehemently denied all accusations of wrongdoing.
