“Hezbollah Drone Factory Uncovered Near Israel Border”

Troops have discovered a significant Hezbollah drone manufacturing facility underground near the border between Israel and Lebanon, bringing a tense calm over the area.

The complex of tunnels, located just four miles north of the Israeli border, was used clandestinely by militants to construct dangerous Iranian Kamikaze drones. Situated beneath the village of Majdal Zoun, this area was previously seized by Israeli forces at the onset of the conflict, and the drones found there are now being dismantled.

As ceasefires settle over Iran and southern Lebanon, despite strong rhetoric from US President Donald Trump during peace negotiations in Switzerland, discussions have hit an impasse due to Israel’s refusal to be dissuaded from defending southern Lebanon against potential Hezbollah attacks.

An unspoken truce between Israel and Hezbollah has been established following the conclusion of talks in Switzerland and the commencement of 60 days of discussions with Iran through intermediaries.

Despite objections from Israel, a US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) failed to exclude Lebanon, with Israel emphasizing its right to self-defense. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar expressed Israel’s commitment to upholding the ceasefire as long as Hezbollah reciprocates, stressing the need for Hezbollah to be disbanded for the benefit of both Lebanon and Israel.

Ongoing conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon have repeatedly jeopardized peace negotiations as President Trump seeks to end hostilities with Iran.

Iran has expressed frustration with the US delegation, led by real estate businessman Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, for their lack of experience in diplomatic matters. Iranian negotiators perceive them as unprofessional and have criticized their close ties to Israel, lack of political background, and absence of a proven track record.

A weekend marked by intense violence across Lebanon concluded with ceasefires in both Iran and Beirut territories as Swiss peace talks concluded and a 60-day negotiation period began. The region saw multiple casualties, including the deaths of five Israeli soldiers. Eighteen hours of peace talks with Iran in Switzerland ended, prompting Tehran to caution President Trump against issuing threats, particularly after his warning that Iran would face severe consequences if it closed the Strait of Hormuz.

At one juncture, Trump’s social media outburst led to Iran temporarily withdrawing from the negotiation table. However, Pakistani and Qatari mediators have outlined a potential roadmap for a deal within the 60-day timeframe.

The flow of ships through the Strait of Hormuz dwindled to just five vessels after Iran re-closed the passage. Approximately 500 trade ships remain stranded in the region until full access is restored. The Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre highlighted the precarious position Israel finds itself in, torn between taking action against Hezbollah and risking US displeasure or maintaining a passive stance and leaving itself vulnerable to potential attacks.

The UK-Israel based research and analysis center noted that Hezbollah’s violations of the ceasefire aim to corner Israel strategically, forcing it to choose between risking US backlash for disrupting peace negotiations with Iran or allowing Hezbollah to strike at will, thereby strengthening the connection between Tehran’s interests and the security of Israel’s northern communities.
