Responding to the escalating situation, Patrick Clancy’s legal representative issued a statement on Tuesday, expressing that “enough is enough.”
“In recent months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to an ongoing, escalating, and damaging campaign of defamation,” remarked Boston attorney Howard Cooper in a statement acquired by CBC News.
“This misinformation campaign has been propagated and endorsed by minor celebrities, self-proclaimed influencers, and outright conspiracy theorists who seem focused on boosting their social media presence and potential gains by disseminating known falsehoods suggesting Patrick’s involvement in the tragic deaths of his children and other reprehensible allegations,” the statement elaborated.
Highlighting the continued intensity of the situation, Cooper emphasized the real-world threats posed to Patrick Clancy’s reputation, livelihood, and safety due to the ongoing defamation campaign, compelling his client to address the matter promptly to refocus on honoring the memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy and supporting women confronting perinatal mental health challenges.
“The dissemination of unfounded and malicious falsehoods must cease,” Cooper stressed, warning that those responsible would face repercussions, with law enforcement already notified.
