Liam Draxl secured the first victory for Canada in the Davis Cup tie against France. Draxl triumphed over Arthur Rinderknech with a score of 6-2, 7-5 in the initial singles match held at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City on Friday. During the match, Draxl recorded nine aces and successfully capitalized on three out of his ten break-point opportunities. Remarkably, the 24-year-old managed to fend off all three break-point chances presented by Rinderknech. The upcoming match will feature Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime against Quentin Halys as the second face-off on the same day.
